TEMERLOH CANDIDATES THAT CARE and those that do not care...

At the "MEET THE CANDIDATES FOR THE 2008 GENERAL ELECTIONS" that was organized and held at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Mentakab, PAHANG today (2/3/2008) at 4-6pm, in which about 60 persons attended. Christian from other Churches also turned up.

It was dissapointing to note that some of the Candidates just DO NOT CARE to meet with the people (RAKYAT).

The Candidates WHO CARED TO SPEND TIME AND MEET THE PEOPLE are :-

P88- Temerloh Ahmad Nizam Hamid (Parti Keadilan Rakyat - PKR)

N30 - Mentakab Ng Kwee Ling (DAP)
N30 - Mentakab
Chuah Boon Siong (Barisan Nasional - MCA)

N32 - Kuala Semantan Syed Hamid Syed Mahmood (PAS)

*** Names arranged in the order that they arrived.

The Candidates WHO DID NOT CARE TO ATTEND (or even inform that they could make it) are :-

P88- Temerloh Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (Barisan Nasional - UMNO)
(Invite was given at the UMNO BN Centre in Mentakab to one "Zainuddin", who claimed to be the P.A. or the person arranging the program of the candidate. Flyers were again handed a 2nd time to another person who claimed to be arranging the schedule of the candidate. Candidate also was sent an SMS informing him of the programme)

N31 - Lancang Mohd Saim Abu Bakar (PKR)
N31- Lancang Datok Mohd Shakar Shamsuddin (Barisan Nasional - UMNO)
(*Both these candidates were personally informed of the event)

N32 - Khairuddin Abdul Manan (Barisan Nasional - UMNO)
(Invite was given at the UMNO BN Centre in Mentakab to one "Zainuddin", who said that he would convey message to this candidate. Datok Mohd Shakar Shamsuddin also said that he would inform this candidate of the event. At the 2nd visit to the BN Center, person who claimed to be arranging the schedule of the candidate was informed. He said he will let candidate know. Flyers (BIG and small version) was left to be handed to candidate. )

** There was also a contact number of the organiser given, which was also in the flyer, and these 4 candidates and/or their agents did not bother to even call and say that they could not make it.

It was an interesting sessions that saw candidates being bombarded with all kinds of questions that included the question of the usage of the term "ALLAH", the issue of secular or Islamic state, the issue of the Mentakab Hospital, etc..

IF THEY DO NOT EVEN CARE TO COME TO MEET THE RAKYAT IN A SPECIAL MEETING ORGANISED BY THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES, WHO TOOK PRECIOUS TIME OFF ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON, THEN MAYBE THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE EVEN CANDIDATES... LET ALONE "WAKIL RAKYAT"

IF THEY COULD NOT MAKE IT, AT LEAST AN APOLOGY WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD...
